Would you rather…
Spend the last few weeks of summer rummaging around your too-full garage, tripping over your lawn mower, stepping on your rake (ouch), trying to cram pool supplies, outdoor rec gear, and gardening tools in the limited space?
OR
Walk into your beautiful Tuff Shed, set everything in its place on the shelf in seconds, and get ready for fall with a wonderfully organized space?
Now that we have answered that question, we’re excited to tell you that your new Tuff Shed could be just weeks away! A Tuff Shed is the ultimate outdoor storage solution. We even offer a number of interior upgrades so you can keep your building organized and make the most of your space.
Here are a few organization features to consider when you’re designing your new backyard building!
Add Shelving to Your Backyard Building
Shelving is essential for organization. Instead of leaving all your recreation equipment, gardening gear, DIY supplies, and more on the floor, layers of shelving give your items a home and keep everything off the ground. As a result, your shed is more functional, and the floor is less crowded.
Tuff Shed shelving features heavy-duty 2×4 wood brackets attached at every other wall stud and is topped with 7/16” thick sheathing. The shelving comes in 12”, 15” or 24” depths and runs the full length of the wall. You can also get multiple layers of shelving!
Consider a Pegboard Wall
Do you have a lot of small tools you’d like to hang up? Or maybe you have a collection of shovels and rakes that need a designated spot. A pegboard wall is a great solution! Pegboard allows for custom organization and takes advantage of wall space—that means maximizing storage.
Tuff Shed pegboard can be placed on full wall height, half wall height, or above a workbench. We’ll even get you started with some pegboard hooks!
Try an Overhead Loft
What if you could get additional space without adding square footage? That’s one of the major benefits of an overhead loft. It is especially useful for items that you need to keep but won’taccess often, making it the perfect spot for seasonal or holiday decorations.
Our overhead lofts can be added to Sundance Series® barn sheds, garages, and TR-800 models. The loft includes ¾” thick floor decking supported by dimensional lumber joists, and is designed to span the entire width of the building. You can customize the configuration in depths of 2’ increments.
Take Advantage of Other Organization Tools
Now that your Tuff Shed is set up with upgrades to keep your building organized, there are a few other ways to make the most of your space. (Hint: you can find a lot of these items at your local Home Depot!)
Storage bins
Large storage bins are essential to keep all your items organized. It’s a good idea to sort items into categories and then put like items together. Place these bins on shelves to keep them off the floor.
Hooks
If you choose to add pegboard to your Tuff Shed, you’ll have plenty of space for hooks. But you could also install hooks elsewhere in your backyard building. Consider bike hooks, large hooks for heavier tools, or J-Hooks or S-Hooks for hoses and cords.
Labels
Labeling your bins, boxes, shelves, and more is essential to keep your space organized and tidy. Forget rummaging around to find your gardening gloves—if you accurately label your containers, they’ll be easy to spot!
